Mister A’s is seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations. This role is hands-on and service-driven, requiring strong leadership on the line and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of execution and consistency that define our restaurant.
The Sous Chef will act as a key leader in the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, proper team support, and consistent food quality across all stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Lead by example on the line, particularly during à la minute service
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Ensure consistency in food quality, preparation, and presentation
- Assist with ordering, inventory, and prep organization
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health standards
- Step in to lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within a fine dining or high-volume kitchen
- Strong background in hot line and service execution
- Solid understanding of kitchen organization, prep systems, and timing
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Passion for hospitality and continuous improvement
