Job Overview
The Part Time Practical Nursing Adult Education Instructor is expected to have the education and knowledge to teach in a Practical Nursing Program. The Part-Time Instructor may provide classroom and clinical instruction and supervision. Any Part-Time instructor may participate as a member of the Admissions and Promotions Committee. The Part-Time Instructor shall comply with the regulations of the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, the Ohio Board of Nursing, the Ohio Department of Higher Education, and the affiliating health care facilities. Classes include lecture and lab for practical nursing students, as well as clinical supervision at various health care facilities.
Responsibilities
- Function within the Cuyahoga Valley career Center Mission Statement, and the philosophy and objectives of the practical nursing program.
- Provide classroom instruction, clinical instruction and supervision of practical nursing students.
- Monitors development of student skills, performance and professional behavior.
- Evaluates student progress
- Maintains student records in accordance with established policy.
- Assists in selection, recruitment, retention and promotion of students.
- Demonstrates professional behaviors in all aspects of job responsibilities
- Is available for flexible hours meeting the needs of the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse License
- BLS/CPR certified
- Two years recent clinical experience in the health care field, especially with medical-surgical clients.
- Travel required during clinical rotations at hospitals and/or long-term care facilities in Cuyahoga and surrounding counties.
