As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and supporting key financial processes. Your expertise in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, payroll support, and financial reporting will help drive the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations.
What You'll Do
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Perform account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with accounting standards.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and payments.
- Monitor customer accounts and collections.
- Maintain accurate AP/AR records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Payroll Support
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reporting.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Support employee payroll inquiries and record maintenance.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies for resolution.
Data Integrity & Compliance
- Perform high-volume data entry with exceptional accuracy.
- Utilize double-entry bookkeeping principles and strong 10-key skills.
- Support internal audits and maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with governmental, nonprofit, or public-sector accounting requirements when applicable.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and governmental accounting standards.
- Experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of debits and credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and payroll tax compliance.
- Excellent data entry and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
