The Fabrication Working Lead provides leadership and hands-on technical support to the welding and fabrication team within the Data Center Cooling (DCC) division. This position is a working lead role — responsible for coordinating production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Technical Lead performs welding and fabrication duties while providing guidance, training, and oversight to direct reports on shift.

Primary Job Duties:
- Lead the shift and cells providing daily direction, prioritization, and technical support to a team of welders and fabricators.
- Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure completion according to production schedules and customer specifications.
- Conduct shift start-up meetings to review priorities, safety topics, and quality expectations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting welding or fabrication issues.
- Train and mentor team members in welding techniques, fabrication practices, and company standards.
- Maintain attendance and performance records, providing input for performance reviews and development plans.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture that emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Perform hands-on welding and fabrication, including layout, cutting, measuring, TIG welding, and assembly of stainless steel components.
- Identify and cut various diameter tubing and fittings per customer and DCC specifications.
- Verify dimensions using calipers, height gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Inspect welds and assemblies to ensure conformance with internal and customer standards.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality across operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
- Uphold all safety policies and procedures, ensuring the team follows best practices and uses proper PPE.
- Conduct routine quality checks and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Promote a 'zero defects' mindset and encourage ownership of quality among all team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in stainless steel fabrication.
- Proven leadership or lead-hand experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of fabrication and welding principles, tools, and techniques.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for leading and training others.
- Basic computer skills for work order tracking and reporting.

Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
- May involve exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Attendance Requirements: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory.
Compensation Range: $28-$32 per hour
