Duties
- Supervise and monitor children during play, learning activities, meals, naps, and outdoor time to ensure safety at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool curriculum and early childhood education strategies
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, behavior, and daily experiences
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any concerns related to child safety or well-being
- Administer first aid or pediatric first aid as needed to address minor injuries or health issues
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care and instruction
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to childcare and daycare center standards
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings
- Knowledge of child development instruction and early childhood education principles
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required; ongoing training preferred
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently following mandated reporting laws
- Passion for nurturing children’s growth through engaging activities and positive reinforcement
- Classroom experience in daycare centers or early childhood education environments is preferred
