Responsibilities
- Operate laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and pressing machines to process linens, towels, uniforms, and other textiles.
- Sort laundry items based on type, color, and cleaning requirements to ensure optimal washing procedures.
- Perform cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting designated areas to maintain a tidy workspace.
- Handle dry cleaning processes for delicate or specialty fabrics following established safety protocols.
- Ensure all laundry is properly folded, pressed, and stored in designated areas for easy access and distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry loads processed and monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience with laundry operations, including the use of commercial washing machines and dry cleaning equipment.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ability to handle delicate fabrics with care during washing and pressing processes.
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is required; a positive attitude towards guest service is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all textiles meet quality standards before returning to use or storage.
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy laundry loads safely.
