Title: Superintendent
Location: Columbus, OH
Compensation: $90k - $150k + bens
Our client, a respected Midwest General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee major construction projects throughout the Greater Columbus area.
This role will manage day-to-day site operations across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, education, hospitality, and institutional developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through completion and closeout
- Manage subcontractors, field teams, site logistics, safety, quality, and project schedules
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and potential project risks
- Conduct daily site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and progress updates
- Monitor short-term schedules, manpower, materials, deliveries, inspections, and project milestones
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Manage RFIs, field documentation, punch lists, inspections, and project closeout
- Support preconstruction planning, site logistics, sequencing, and subcontractor selection where required
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents and other field team members
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor
- Experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, education, hospitality, or institutional projects
- Strong experience managing ground-up construction, renovations, occupied facilities, and phased projects
- Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, site logistics, safety, and quality control
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, trade scopes, and sequencing
- Proficiency with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software
- Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with the Greater Columbus construction market is preferred
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential
