Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling.
- Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes that align with the restaurant’s culinary standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Support food production efforts by managing multiple orders efficiently during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various dishes.
- Uphold high standards of food safety management and sanitation practices throughout all kitchen activities.
Skills
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production.
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus.
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols essential for high-volume production settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper kitchen hygiene practices.
- Proven experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant environments with a focus on quality and presentation.
