We are on the lookout for compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding patient care in our brand-new Ambulatory Surgery Center. Ideal candidates will excel as a PERIOPERATIVE NURSE (Pre-op RN/Circulator RN/PACU RN), embodying the spirit of collaboration.
Discover Your Role:
Engage in preoperative functions, ensuring the seamless preparation of patients for surgery.
Verify patient identity and scheduled procedure(s), assist patients to the OR, and provide preoperative instructions.
Ensure meticulous pre-op clinical documentation in the patient's chart, conduct admission assessments, and communicate abnormal values to the Anesthesiologist.
Handle postoperative functions, admitting/transferring patients to PACU, closely monitoring post-op patients, and documenting vital signs and patient conditions.
Deliver post-op instructions to patients prior to discharge and conduct postoperative calls, documenting responses in the patient's record.
Conduct pre-operative calls to patients before the day of surgery.
Maintain crash cart inventory and maintenance log.
Collaborate with Scrub Technicians, assisting in opening supplies for cases and aiding in surgical preparation.
Provide additional instruments and supplies as requested during operations.
Stay knowledgeable and up to date on equipment and supplies, including functionality, location, and upkeep.
Assist in restocking the unit as needed.
Uphold a comfortable, orderly, and clean safe environment in the Admitting and Recovery areas.
Maintain various logs (refrigerator temperatures, crash cart, surgery, narcotics, specimen, etc.).
Foster communication between front desk staff and O.R. staff for efficient patient flow.
Adhere to infection control policies, reporting any witnessed violations promptly.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher.
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY.
2-4 years of nursing experience required.
1-2 years of experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) preferred.
Pediatric Experience required.
CPR, ACLS, and BCLS Certification.
Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance.
Superb communication skills and a high standard of integrity.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
