Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to join a respected nonprofit organization serving children and families in Southwest Florida.
This leadership role is responsible for guiding the organization's financial health, ensuring sound fiscal stewardship, and partnering with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to support long-term sustainability and growth.

Duties
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash management, and banking relationships.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements
- Develop and oversee the annual operating budget in partnership with organizational leadership.
- Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
- Lead the annual audit and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, federal and state reporting requirements, and grant compliance.
- Oversee grant and resticted fund accounting.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff.
- Present financial reports and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Manage insurance, vendor contracts, retirement plans, and other financial administrative functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
- 5-7 + years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing for and managing annual audits
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgement

Work Environment
This is a full time, primarily office-based leadership position located in Southwest Florida. Occasional evening meetings may be required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
