Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children in our infant classroom by assisting the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a love of learning, promote social-emotional growth, and support each child's individual needs. We are filling a full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in children's lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. The right candidate must be available to work Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Hourly compensation starting at $13.75, based on experience.
Duties
- Work within a team in nurturing and caring for infants and young toddlers, including feeding, diaper-changing, soothing, and maintaining a daily routine tailored to each individual child
- Assist lead teacher with implementing daily lesson plans that incorporate literacy, social skills, and curriculum development tailored to infant/toddler age groups
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through routines and activities
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, creativity, and early childhood development
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to each child's growth and learning
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in a childcare center or preschool is strongly preferred, particularly with infants and toddlers
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including childhood development theories and behavior management strategies
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in supporting classroom routines
- Certification or training in First Aid, CPR and/or child development or willingness to obtain
- Passion for nurturing young learners and supporting their individual growth through engagement and connection
