A lifeguard must work a minimum of 10 hours per week at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any deviations from the hours listed above must be approved by United Pools Corporate Office.
A Lifeguard is responsible for supervising swimmers, preventing accidents, and the upkeep of the facility. Lifeguards enforce all rules and regulations, report chemical maintenance issues, check and log all chemical readings, attend All-TEAM Meetings, and the overall upkeep of the facility. A Lifeguard oversees the pool to create the safest swimming environment possible - this includes but not limited to:
- Patron Surveillance
- Administering Swim-Tests
- Testing Water Chemistry
- Vacuuming the Pool
- Monitoring Restrooms
- Backwashing Filters
- Daily Cleaning Duties
- Enforcing Facility Rules
