Position: Cook/Kitchen Assistant; M-F, 3-4 Hrs./Day
Salary: $17.58-18.66/Hr. (depending on experience)

Position Description:
Redwood Coast Montessori is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive Kitchen Assistant. The role of Kitchen Assistant is assisting in the preparation and serving of school lunches, daily cleanup, and assisting the cook with daily tasks as needed.
Duties:
- Assists in the implementation of the daily lunch program under the direction of the cook.
- Drives prepared meals between campuses.
- Helps to maintain a neat, well-organized and attractive kitchen environment aligned with public health standards.
- Provides temporary supervision of students as needed in the cafeteria.
- Helps with general housekeeping tasks.
- Assists the cook in any other appropriate ways.
- Maintains professional attitudes and loyalty to the school.
- Treats all children with dignity and respect.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
- Maintains confidentiality about children, families, and other employees outside the school.
- Assists cook to maintain safety of the children placed in his or her charge until each has been dismissed to a responsible adult.
- The school day shall begin at the time indicated on the employment agreement. The school day shall end at the time indicated on the employment agreement.
- Professional days: shall be in attendance at school on all professional days and shall participate in professional activities designated by the Director, which may include workshops, retreats, meetings, planning and other professional pursuits.
- Prepares a detailed accident report – in the event of an accident or injury – for the Director, teacher and parents, documenting the details of what took place.
- Consciously works to develop close, trusting and effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Maintains a mature professional relationship with the faculty, administration and staff: voicing concerns directly to the parties involved in a responsible manner and treating one another with respect at all times.
- Maintains to the best of his/her professional ability a kitchen environment of calm, order and self-discipline in which little or no equipment or furnishing will be damaged, lost or stolen except through normal consumption or wear.
Requirements upon being hired:
- Fingerprinted and DOJ clearance,
- Negative TB test
- Must attend and pass adult and child First Aid/CPR
