Facilities Position Description
Reports to: Venue Manager, Owner
Shifts: Can include Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday depending on our Event schedule; typically 10 am – 6 pm.
Job Summary: To ensure furniture, equipment and facilities related items are clean and in place according to event timeline; to keep facilities and furniture organized, safe to others and free from damage; to deliver exceptional hospitality to clients and vendors alike
List of primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Provide a 5 star hospitality experience to clients, vendors and staff alike
- To set up furniture and facilities according to event Timeline and Layouts
- Participate in shift meeting with second facilities team member on day-of event to review Timeline
- Partner with Facilities Crew team member to work together on major setups (Ballroom, Front Porch, Ceremony)
- Follow break schedule as listed on event timeline (meal provided)
- Break down ceremony space after Cocktail Hour
- Maintain equipment and furniture as needed
- Liaison with Malibou Lake property representative
- Organize storage areas and common areas according to safety, efficiency and esthetics
- Label shelving and boxes clearly in storage units
- Assist with bi-weekly propane pick-up (as needed)
- Communicate any damage to equipment and/or facilities in a timely manner
- Suggest new procedures to Venue Manager for efficiency and safety
- Ensure property is ‘stage ready’ for weekly tours
- Ensure furniture and facility is tidy, clean and presentable for weekly tours and events
- Take pride and ownership of facility
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours
- Conduct light maintenance as needed
Required skills:
- Organization, time management, attention to detail, prioritizes cleanliness, literate, forward thinker, self-motivated, deadline driven, works well independently and with others, professional and positive communication skills, leads with integrity, pleasant demeanor, hospitality driven with minimum 2 years customer service experience, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, minimum 2 years heavy lifting experience (this is a labor-intensive position).
