Summary
The Sales Consultant is responsible for selling new and pre-owned vehicles while meeting dealership standards for gross profit, sales volume, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
Sales Consulting
- Generate business with new, repeat, and referral customers.
- Make in person, phone, and email contacts with prospective customers and current owners.
- Offer a prompt and courteous greeting to all customers.
- Identify customer needs for new and pre-owned vehicles, options, and accessories.
- Offer each customer a test drive and conduct test drives as needed.
- Present vehicle features, advantages, and benefits during a customer-tailored walkaround presentation.
- Handle objections and respond to competitive comparison information to move sales forward.
- Gain customer commitment to purchasing vehicles, options, and accessories.
- Present and negotiate price following dealership policies and procedures.
- Complete sales orders and process paperwork following dealership procedures.
- Work with the Service Department to prepare sold vehicles for delivery.
- Deliver used vehicles to customers following the dealership Used Vehicle Delivery Process.
- Introduce new and used owners to Service and Parts Department representatives and schedule the first service appointment.
- Follow up with new owners to ensure satisfaction and obtain repeat and referral business.
- Set individual sales goals and implement actions to achieve those goals.
Work Performance
- Meet dealership standards for sales volume and gross profit.
- Maintain customer satisfaction scores at least comparable to that of the district average.
- Account and protect the privacy of all sales related documentation.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Operate dealership and manufacturer computer systems.
- Establish, maintain, and produce reports from a contact management database.
- Keep current on new and updated vehicles, options, and accessories.
- Participate in dealership sales meetings and dealership and manufacturer provided training programs.
- Abide by all dealership and manufacturer policies and procedures.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect department operations.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Excellent customer service and retail sales abilities
- Proficiency in outbound sales and sales support
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales pipeline management
- Negotiation skills and experience in high-end sales
- Ability to manage inventory and perform retail math
- Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
