Job Summary
We are looking to hire a hardworking, reliable Full-Time Dietary Cook to join our team! We are a skilled nursing facility looking for dynamic associates to join our dietary team to assist in preparation and delivery of meals and sanitation of the food services area.

Responsibilities
- Assists with meal preparation according to menus and recipes provided.
- Prepares food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and beverages as requested
- Prepares nutritional snacks for residents. Assures snack cart in the evenings contains enough snacks and beverages as needed.
- Cleans kitchen areas, food serving utensils, and equipment utilizing proper procedures after each meal.
- Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
- Follows procedures for proper method of machine dishwashing, including: Checking the temperature and chlorine level and reporting to the Dietetic Service Supervisor, Utilizing the proper amounts of detergent and rinse chemical, Proper method of scraping, soaking, and placement of dishes on trays, etc.
- Washes and cleans work area, tables, cabinets, and ovens utilizing proper procedures.
- Follows assigned cleaning/sanitizing schedules.
- Attends in-service and staff development meetings, as directed.
- Any other assignments directed by the Dietary Manager
Skills /Requirements
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including Booster shots
- Food Handler’s Card
- Good physical health to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without restrictions.
- Must be able to communicate, read and write English
- Must be able to work on weekends, holidays and do overtime if needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of
