Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain mechanical systems including engines (diesel and gasoline), transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, shocks & struts, brakes, and steering components.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with heavy equipment mechanics on specialized repairs involving ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, and other complex systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools skillfully for mechanical repairs while adhering to safety protocols.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records, prepare auto estimating reports, and communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle types including GM vehicles; familiarity with auto body repair is a plus.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and mechanical systems repair including transmissions and powertrain components.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, auto electrical systems, welding, and heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and other automotive service tools.
- Knowledge of tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, suspension work, oil changes, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Certifications or experience related to ADAS calibration, air brake systems, diesel mechanics or auto estimating are advantageous.
