Accounts Receivable Clerk- Position Filled
The Housing Authority of Pompano Beach is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented, and reliable Accounts Receivable Clerk to join its finance team. This position is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall billing and collections process. Key duties include generating and sending invoices, recording and reconciling payments, monitoring accounts for overdue balances, and following up on outstanding invoices. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date customer records, preparing accounts receivable reports and aging summaries, assisting with month-end closings and audits, and communicating with both internal departments and external clients regarding billing matters. Additional responsibilities include maintaining property ledgers and insurance registers, as well as collaborating with the Accounts Payable department to ensure timely vendor disbursements. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (an Associate’s Degree in accounting is preferred), along with 1–2 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines are essential for success in this role.
This position is primarily responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and to carry out any and all duties delegated by the CFO. Must be trustworthy, exhibit a high degree of interpersonal skills, as well as, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrate computer literacy. NSPIRE & HQS Inspector – Housing Authority - Position Filled
The Housing Authority of Pompano Beach is seeking a detail-oriented NSPIRE & HQS Inspector to ensure safe, quality housing through HUD inspections. This role involves conducting unit inspections, documenting results, and guiding landlords and tenants on compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, decent, and sanitary housing for program participants.
The ideal candidate has:
- Education: High school diploma required, plus two years of college or vocational/technical training; or substitute with two additional years of relevant work experience. Nan McKay or NAHRO certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Minimum five years in property management, program administration, or related fields within public or subsidized housing, including at least two years in building inspections, construction, property management, or technical trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid Florida Driver’s License with insurable record. NSPIRE and Lead-Based Paint Condition Assessment certifications within six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule various types of inspections
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with HQS and NSPIRE guidelines, HAPB, and local housing standards
- Identify deficiencies and verify that corrective actions are completed on time
- Document findings and prepare clear reports for property owners, tenants, and management
- Communicate inspection results professionally with stakeholders
- Perform visual inspections for Lead-Based Paint and ensure proper remediation procedures
- Resolve complex inspection issues and conflicts involving tenants, owners, and staff
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Stay current with HUD regulations and inspection protocols
- Input data into Housing Software
