Early Childhood Teacher Job Description
Summary:
Teachers are expected to plan and implement developmentally appropriate, social-emotional growth and development of all children and develop partnerships with parents as well as encourage parent participation in the program.
Requirements:
High school Diploma, North Carolina Criminal Background Check Qualifying Letter, NC Early Childhood Credentials Certificate, First Aid, CPR, SIDS and other training requirements. The co-teacher must also provide proof of current medical examination and negative tuberculosis test. The co-teacher will be responsible for completing annual training hours as required by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education.
Job Duties:
- Responses to children's attempt to communicate are positive and provided in a timely manner
- Children are encouraged to participate in activities and learning experiences.
- Visual supervision of all children always occurs.
- Interactions with children and families are positive and professional.
- Positive interactions will be maintained with the children and encourage mutual respect between children and adults.
- The daily schedule is followed in the classroom and the schedule adheres to developmentally appropriate practices for the age group.
- Positive and respectful relationships are maintained with parents and families and will encourage active family participation and the sharing of information.
- Respectful relationships are established and maintained with staff members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
