Steel Plant Industrial Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Youngstown, OH. If you are proactive, safety-minded, and experienced in industrial maintenance, we want to hear from you.
Join a growing steel fabrication and counterweight manufacturing team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be the first point of contact for diagnosing and repairing machinery issues, ensuring smooth operations on the production floor. This role offers the chance to apply your hands-on maintenance skills in a dynamic industrial environment.

Hours:
3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain industrial production or processing machinery and equipment
- Diagnose malfunctions through observation and testing equipment performance
- Repair or replace defective components and parts
- Disassemble engines and mechanical units for inspection and repair
- Clean and inspect mechanical parts such as pistons, valves, transmissions, and clutches
- Install new or reconditioned parts, including brake bands, clutch plates, sprockets, and pump components
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience using hand tools and maintenance equipment
- Ability to read and follow oral and written work orders
- Experience with voltmeters and testing devices
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and resolve issues
- Ability to work any shift preferred
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Nice to Have Skills:
- Manufacturing experience in steel environments
- Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance roles
