Waldbart Nursery in Dorsey IL is a family owned business that specializes in the growing of shade, flowering, and evergreen trees along with flowering and evergreen shrubs. We also operate a retail/wholesale garden center that includes a tree planting and delivery service that we offer to our customers. We are currently looking for crew leaders to run our tree planting crews.
- Job responsibilities: Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Managing a crew on a day to day basis doing tree and shrub plantings or landscaping jobs.
-Driving a truck and trailer in a safe and responsible manner.
-Keeping equipment and tools maintained and in working condition.
-Working with customers frequently in a friendly and educated manner.
-Operating heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
-Maintaining company quality standards of tree and shrub plantings.
-Providing training to crew members.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and be able to handle plant material in a responsible manner.
- Ability to work with the general public.
- Ability to work with coworkers in a nice and responsible manner.
- Has a class C drivers license or has the ability to get a class C drivers license.
- Has experience and knowledge of equipment such as Bobcats or tractors.
- Has extensive knowledge of trees and shrubs.
- Has experience and knowledge of job site safety.
- Has good communication and problem solving skills.
- Organization and planning skills to keep a job site running smoothly.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons
- Experience planting trees and shrubs
- Experience with trucks and trailers
- Experience with Skid Steers and their attachments
- Valid Driver's License
