Job Summary
The Tunnel Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently loading vehicles into the wash tunnel while maintaining operational flow and safety standards. This position plays a critical role in throughput, equipment protection, and overall site performance.
Success in this role is measured by safe vehicle loading, consistent traffic flow, and adherence to operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely guide vehicles onto the conveyor system and ensure proper alignment
- Provide clear loading instructions to customers prior to tunnel entry
- Conduct visual safety checks including confirming windows are closed and vehicles are secure for wash
- Monitor tunnel entry area for hazards and maintain a safe work environment
- Operate loading controls and related tunnel systems as required
- Maintain consistent vehicle spacing to support optimal throughput
- Communicate operational or safety concerns to management immediately
- Keep tunnel entrance and surrounding areas clean and organized
- Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures
- Support overall site operations as needed

- Support target vehicle throughput goals
- Minimize equipment risk through proper vehicle positioning
- Contribute to efficient, uninterrupted tunnel operation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous car wash or equipment operation experience preferred but not required
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
