Duties
- Lead and coordinate the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure consistency and quality in a high-volume setting
- Supervise and support line cooks, fostering teamwork, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols
- Oversee food handling, storage, sanitation, and cleanliness to meet all health regulations
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and ingredient ordering to optimize kitchen operations
- Ensure proper knife skills and food preparation techniques are maintained across the team
- Monitor cooking processes to guarantee timely service without compromising quality
- Train new staff on food safety standards, culinary techniques, and restaurant procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong culinary experience with a focus on fine dining standards and presentation skills
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Expertise in menu planning, meal preparation, catering, and serving techniques
- Excellent knife skills with attention to food safety and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
