Duties
- Safely navigate assigned routes on foot to deliver packages promptly and accurately
- Load and unload parcels using safe lifting practices, including heavy lifting and manual handling techniques
- Ensure all deliveries comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and weight handling standards in the workplace
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch to report delivery status and any issues encountered during routes
- Assist with moving packages within Metro Area
- Follow route driving protocols, ensuring safety at all times while moving between delivery points
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction
Skills
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or delivery driving is highly desirable
- Familiarity with commercial driving, box trucks, or courier services enhances efficiency in this role
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and route driving best practices is beneficial
- Ability to handle heavy loads safely, adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling standards
- Experience with forklift operation or pallet jacks is a plus for loading/unloading tasks
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to weight handling and vehicle operation in the workplace
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude toward clients and team members
