VP of Operations for a Metal Fabrication/Machining Company in Western New York
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Operations to lead our organization’s operational excellence and drive sustainable growth. In this pivotal role, you will lead day-to-day manufacturing, production, supply chain, and facility management to achieve profitability and efficiency goals. Drive continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), oversee project & capital budgets, and ensure safety compliance, and champion shop floor productivity.
Responsibilities
- Production Leadership: Oversee all fabrication processes, production scheduling, and material management to meet customer demands.
- Operational Efficiency: Implement Lean manufacturing principles, reduce waste, and manage capital expenditures (CapEx) for new equipment.
- Quality Control & Safety: Establish strict quality standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations and health/safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership team on low-cost manufacturing strategies, capacity planning and daily production status.
- Financial Accountability: Manage operational budgets, cost reduction initiatives, and inventory optimization.
- Team Leadership: Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing team managers (including Shop, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality) to maximize production in a cost efficient manner while fostering a safe, high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Experience: Extensive knowledge and experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role, specifically for metal fabrication and machining, with a proven track record of managing production teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration.
- Knowledge: Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, financial analysis, project management and customer satisfaction.
- Skills: Expertise in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, strong data-driven decision-making, and high-level negotiation skills.
- Communication: Outstanding cross-functional collaboration communication skills with peers, employees and customers, who’s respected for subject matter and knowledge.
- Personality Traits: Entrepreneurial spirit who is hands-on, a problem solver and has a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
