Part-Time Early Intervention Evaluator (Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist)
We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to conduct independent developmental evaluations for the Early Intervention Birth to Age 3 Program in Blair County.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for professionals who enjoy working with young children and their families while maintaining control over their schedules.
Position Details
- Compensation: $82.00 per hour for evaluation time spent with the Service Coordinator in the family's home.
- Schedule: Flexible Monday through Friday daytime hours. This is not an evening or weekend position.
- Evaluations are typically scheduled 1–2 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your schedule.
- When a referral is received via email, you will indicate your available dates. The family will then select the date that best fits their schedule.
- Evaluation appointments generally occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., although your schedule will vary based on referrals and availability.
- The ideal candidate is available 2–3 weekdays per week, though the number of evaluations fluctuates. Some weeks may have no referrals, while others may include several evaluations.
- Expected annual earnings are approximately $18,000–$25,000, depending on referral volume and availability.
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Must meet all state-required educational and credentialing requirements for Early Intervention evaluators.
Pre-Service Requirements
Before conducting evaluations independently, selected candidates must complete several state-required onboarding activities, including:
- Required Early Intervention pre-service training (unless you already work in EI)
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
- State-required background clearances
- A minimum of two observation sessions with an experienced evaluator in your area
Please note that these onboarding requirements are unpaid and must be completed before beginning evaluation assignments.
