Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate caregiver dedicated to providing exceptional support and personalized care to individuals in various living environments. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed care plans and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Engage in patient observation to identify any signs of distress or health issues, including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning duties and ensure a safe environment for all residents
- Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders—is highly valued. Familiarity with dementia care, memory care techniques, hospice care principles, and geriatrics is preferred. Certification in CPR and first aid is required. Proven ability to monitor patients’ vital signs and administer medications safely is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Prior experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal transportation is advantageous. A background in long-term care or home & community care environments will support success in this role.
