Non-Medical Home Care Quality & Innovation
BarCARE Health Homecare Services, LLC
Field-Based | Flexible PRN | Charlotte, Gastonia, Lincolnton & Surrounding Areas
Help Us Build the Next Level of Home Care
BarCARE Health Homecare Services, LLC is a non-medical home care agency seeking an experienced, dependable, forward-thinking Registered Nurse who wants to do more than complete assessments and supervisory visits.
We are entering an exciting period of growth and are working to strengthen how we approach client safety, caregiver education, early identification of concerns, quality improvement, and coordination of care.
We are looking for an RN who will enjoy being part of that growth.
The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about improving processes, developing better ways to support caregivers and clients, identifying potential problems earlier, and helping turn good ideas into practical workflows that can improve care in the home.
This is not a skilled home health nursing position. BarCARE provides non-medical home care services. The RN's role is centered on assessment, caregiver supervision and education, documentation, quality assurance, appropriate escalation of concerns, and helping strengthen the systems that support safe, high-quality non-medical home care.
This Is More Than a PRN Assessment Position
Yes, this position offers flexibility and an opportunity to earn supplemental income.
However, we are looking for someone who also wants to become a valuable part of where BarCARE is going.
As BarCARE grows, we are developing new quality and safety initiatives designed to better connect what caregivers observe in the home with appropriate follow-up and support.
The right RN will be interested in helping us:
- Strengthen how caregivers recognize and report potential safety concerns.
- Improve processes for identifying changes that may affect a client's ability to remain safely at home.
- Develop better caregiver education and competency processes.
- Strengthen documentation and follow-through when concerns are reported.
- Support fall-prevention and other client-safety initiatives.
- Improve communication and coordination between caregivers, agency leadership, clients, families, and appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new BarCARE programs and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Help evaluate what is working, identify what can be improved, and contribute ideas for making our programs stronger.
You do not need to have experience developing programs. You do need to be curious, willing to learn, comfortable with change, and excited about helping build something meaningful.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough new-client assessments and reassessments for individuals receiving non-medical home care services.
- Develop and update individualized plans of care/service plans based on the client's non-medical care needs, preferences, limitations, and safety considerations.
- Complete accurate, detailed, and timely documentation in BarCARE's electronic software system. Training will be provided.
- Conduct caregiver supervisory visits and evaluate whether services are being provided according to the client's established plan.
- Observe caregiver performance and provide appropriate education, coaching, and feedback.
- Assist with caregiver orientation, competency training, and annual training.
- Educate caregivers regarding client safety, infection control, documentation, recognizing and reporting changes, agency policies, and other topics appropriate to non-medical home care.
- Reinforce appropriate caregiver scope, including the importance of observing, documenting, and reporting concerns rather than diagnosing or treating medical conditions.
- Identify and promptly communicate concerns involving client safety, changes in condition, caregiver performance, documentation, or service delivery.
- Help ensure identified concerns are appropriately communicated and followed through according to agency procedures.
- Review client and caregiver documentation as assigned for completeness, accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance-improvement activities.
- Assist with the implementation and evaluation of new client-safety, caregiver-support, and care-coordination initiatives.
- Provide thoughtful feedback about workflows, training materials, documentation processes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, management, and other appropriate individuals.
- Travel throughout assigned BarCARE service areas as needed.
The RN We Are Looking For
Credentials matter, but mindset matters too.
We are especially interested in a nurse who:
- Genuinely wants to make a difference in home and community-based care.
- Enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping caregivers become better at what they do.
- Is interested in prevention, client safety, quality improvement, and early identification of concerns.
- Likes learning and is open to new approaches and ideas.
- Enjoys helping develop processes rather than simply being handed a checklist.
- Can look at a process and think, “How can we make this better?”
- Takes pride in doing things correctly and thoroughly.
- Is dependable and follows through on commitments.
- Takes ownership of responsibilities without requiring constant reminders.
- Produces meaningful documentation rather than simply checking boxes.
- Understands and respects the distinction between non-medical home care and skilled nursing services.
- Understands that non-medical caregivers can play an important role in observing and reporting changes while remaining within their appropriate scope.
- Pays attention to details and recognizes when something warrants further attention.
- Communicates concerns promptly and professionally.
- Is comfortable learning technology and new systems.
- Can work independently while still functioning as part of a team.
- Is excited about contributing to the growth of an organization that is working to raise the standard of non-medical home care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Experience in home care, home health, geriatrics, long-term care, case management, community-based care, nursing supervision, quality improvement, or care coordination is preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and electronic documentation systems.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willing and able to travel throughout assigned service areas, including locations that may require up to approximately one hour of travel.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly manage PRN assignments.
- Must meet BarCARE's applicable health screening, training, credentialing, and agency requirements.
Compensation
This is a flexible PRN/contract, task-based position.
Payment is issued promptly following satisfactory completion of assigned services and submission of complete, accurate, and thorough required documentation.
Additional opportunities may become available as BarCARE expands its quality, safety, caregiver-training, and care-coordination initiatives.
Why BarCARE?
At BarCARE, we believe the future of non-medical home care is about more than simply placing a caregiver in someone's home.
Caregivers spend significant time with clients and may be among the first people to notice that something has changed.
When caregivers are properly trained to observe, document, and report concerns—and when an organization has a strong process for making sure those concerns receive appropriate attention—home care can become an important part of a larger system focused on prevention, safety, and helping people remain safely at home.
That is the direction BarCARE is moving.
We are looking for an RN who finds that vision exciting and wants to help us build it.
This Position May Be Right for You If...
You find yourself thinking:
“I don't want to just complete an assessment. I want my assessment to actually help someone.”
“Caregivers see things in the home that can be important, and I enjoy teaching them what to look for and when to speak up.”
“I like prevention—not just responding after something has already gone wrong.”
“I enjoy improving processes and helping turn ideas into something that actually works.”
“If I accept responsibility for something, I want it done correctly.”
“I still love nursing, but I want to use my experience in a different way.”
“I would enjoy helping a growing organization build something new.”
If this sounds like you, we would genuinely like to meet you.
