Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos when applicable
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or digital payments with precision
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are attractive and accessible
- Upsell products by recommending additional items that enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Conduct basic math calculations quickly for cash handling, refunds, and transaction totals
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or scheduling appointments
- Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and participating in periodic stock counts
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering responsibilities in a retail or grocery store setting
- Supervising experience is preferred to help lead team members during shifts and ensure smooth operations
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and returns
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual language(s) to connect effectively with diverse customers
- Demonstrated customer service excellence with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, merchandising, and product demos
- Experience in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Familiarity with phone etiquette for professional customer interactions
- Retail sales experience that emphasizes cashiering accuracy and efficiency
