American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down (Intermediate Care) position requiring telemetry/cardiac rhythm proficiency, ACLS, and cardiac drip experience on a night shift schedule.

Short-term acute care hospital, 7th Floor Intermediate (Step Down) unit
-
Cardiac and stroke patient population, including renal patients requiring hemodialysis (performed by an outside company)

Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Exposure to a variety of cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix
-
All modes of oxygenation except ventilators utilized on this unit

Charting via Cerner
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
-
Every other weekend required
-
Every other holiday required
-
Floating to like or lesser units within scope may be required
-
Active Indiana (IN) or Compact RN license required prior to start date

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (2 years preferred)

Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required

Some cardiac drip experience required

Proficiency in reading, identifying, and reacting to cardiac rhythms required — candidates must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

This is a true cardiac floor where rhythm recognition is critical to patient safety — proficiency is strictly required
