Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, patient areas, or commercial spaces using established procedures and environmentally friendly cleaning products
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper waste disposal in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to preserve the appearance and safety of all flooring types
- Use janitorial equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and steam cleaners efficiently and safely to ensure optimal results
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all areas are serviced regularly and thoroughly
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management for immediate resolution
- Adhere to environmental services protocols to minimize chemical use and promote sustainable practices in line with company policies
Qualifications
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred; experience in healthcare or hospitality environments is a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA standards related to workplace safety and chemical handling
- Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and floor care methods
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout shifts
