Duties
- Assemble mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized industrial equipment according to detailed blueprints and schematics
- Interpret technical drawings, manufacturing documents, and fabrication instructions to ensure accurate assembly and quality standards
- Measure parts with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math techniques to guarantee specifications are met
- Use welding, soldering, machining, and fabrication skills to create or modify parts as required by project specifications
- Conduct quality checks utilizing measuring instruments and visual inspections to verify proper fit, alignment, and function of assembled components
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely for material handling and component transportation within the production area
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
- Proven experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawing comprehension
- Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, and soldering stations effectively
- Familiarity with shop math principles necessary for measurements and calculations during assembly processes
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and machining is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge combined with manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure high-quality output
