Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Part-Time Purchasing Assistant to support our day-to-day purchasing and vendor management activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Assist with day-to-day purchasing activities and administrative support
- Work directly with current vendors to request pricing, check availability, confirm orders, and follow up on shipments
- Research and establish relationships with new vendors and suppliers
- Obtain and compare quotes to help ensure competitive pricing and best value
- Prepare and place purchase orders accurately and on time
- Track orders and communicate updates on delivery timelines or delays
- Maintain organized records of vendor contacts, pricing, purchase history, and order status
- Help support inventory and supply needs by coordinating timely ordering of materials or products
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure purchasing needs are understood and met
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and general office software
- Previous experience in purchasing, customer service, office administration, or vendor relations is preferred
