We are seeking an energetic and dependable Box Truck Delivery Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while providing excellent customer service. Your expertise in commercial driving, manual handling, and warehouse operations will play a vital part in maintaining our high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Safely operate a box truck, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws during route driving.
- Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or GPS systems to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, utilizing manual transmission skills when applicable.
- Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, providing courteous service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver with knowledge of delivery driving procedures and route planning.
- Warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices for heavy loads.
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols at all times.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, moving items, and manual handling tasks throughout the shift.
- Experience operating mobile devices for route navigation or delivery updates is advantageous.
