BASIC FUNCTION
Seeking a seasoned Tool and Die/Mold Maker who wants to be a part of a highly skilled team who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of machinists to ensure our trade doesn’t die with us. Experience as a trainer/mentor with a proven track record of Tool and Die/Mold Making.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Fabricate parts and molds
· Use all Toolroom machines: milling, turning, precision grinding, polishing, wire and sinker EDM, and similar
· Use Toolroom equipment to machine parts to print
· Proficient manual machining skills including milling contours, engraving, turning threads, boring pockets, grinding flats, diameters, shoulders, slots, and dressing radii
· Use gauges, precision measuring instruments, and all necessary inspection equipment. Experience with touch CMMs a plus
· Ability to reverse engineer and manufacture mold components
· Willingness to coach and mentor new machinists
· Be a productive member of the P1 Technologies, Inc. Toolroom Team.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new machinist training best practices
· Develop and teach productive work habits and specialized skills to new machinists as required
· Identify individual learning needs of apprentices and adapt the delivery of information accordingly
· Ability to work effectively within a team environment where open and honest communication is critical
· Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Tool and Die field, remain up to date on the latest technologies, and be a resource for future Toolroom growth regarding personnel and equipment
· Provide training and/or instructions on related work procedures to coworkers
· Maintain a clean workstation throughout each shift
· Understand and follow quality-related standards and documentation
· Dispose of non-conforming products, as directed

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Tool and Die/Mold Maker in the manufacturing industry
- Journeyman-level Tool and Die/Mold Maker
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to mentor a new generation of machinists
- Tool and Die/Mold design and fabrication experience
- Ability to work with employees who have a wide range of knowledge, skills and abilities
- Knowledge and experience in machine operations: mill, lathe, grinders, wire EDM, and sinker EDMs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T
- Design and create dies, molds, and fixtures
EDUCATION
Must have acquired either certification as a Journeyman mold maker from a vocational school, technical center, high school or state/association apprenticeship, or equivalent training, experience and mold making proficiency in a manufacturing environment
EQUIPMENT USED
Drills, mills, lathes, electrical discharge machinery, various hand-held and measuring tools, die trucks, surface grinder, spin fixtures, etc. Other equipment may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires good hand/eye coordination, fine manipulation with hands and fingers, close/color vision, minimal fumes, moderate noise, lifting up to 50 pounds, moderate bending and stooping, standing and sitting
Pay: $75,000.00 - $83,200.00 per year
