Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant to join our team for the weekend shift. This vital role involves providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other age-related conditions. The ideal candidate will have Hoyer lift experience and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. Duties
- Safely operate Hoyer lifts and manual handling equipment to assist residents with mobility needs
- Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Observe and monitor patients’ health status, noting changes in condition or behavior and reporting findings promptly
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas to promote a safe and hygienic environment
- Follow care plans meticulously, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere aligned with individual preferences and needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Proven experience operating Hoyer lifts safely and effectively is required
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support is essential
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medication administration, vital signs measurement, CPR/First Aid certification is advantageous
- Strong skills in assisting with ADLs, manual handling, patient monitoring, and implementing care plans are necessary
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude combined with excellent communication skills to connect meaningfully with residents of diverse backgrounds
