Job Overview:
We are a boutique Medical Malpractice Defense firm seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. We have a litigation practice which focuses on the representation of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and a wide range of healthcare providers. We also have a general civil docket which includes trucking and hospitality cases. Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
- Assist with case management and preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and arguments
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
- Review and analyze legal documents, such as contracts and agreements
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Texas Law License is recommended but exceptional candidates who have yet to take the bar will be considered
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proficiency in Lexis-Nexis or other legal research tools
- Experience in legal drafting and document review
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
