Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Your responsibilities will include performing comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, especially in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection, laboratory testing, and medical imaging procedures.
- Manage complex cases involving pain management, wound care (including suturing), catheterization, ventilator support, and tube feeding.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies while documenting all patient interactions accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management strategies and discharge planning.
- Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations and safety standards in skilled nursing facilities or assisted living environments.
- Participate in ongoing training related to ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner, and other relevant clinical procedures.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the respective state or country.
- Proven experience in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU or emergency room), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile dressing changes, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and infection control protocols.
- Additional experience in critical care areas such as ICU or trauma centers will be considered an asset.

Pay: $33.00 - $41.00 per hour
