- Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Use precision measuring tools to verify parts meet specifications.
- Make offsets and machine adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Edit G-code at the machine and work with existing or CAM-generated programs.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues, chatter, dimensional issues, and other machining concerns.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Help train or support less-experienced machinists as needed.
- 5+ years of CNC turning/lathe experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong CNC lathe setup and operation experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Ability to make G-code edits and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Multi-axis or live-tooling lathe experience.
- Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, Siemens, Yasnac, or similar CNC control experience.
- Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other close-tolerance manufacturing experience.
- Technical degree, machining certificate, or related training.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
