We're The Soap Guy, the largest natural (cold-process) soap wholesaler in the U.S., based in La Porte, IN. We also own SoapEquipment.com, which supplies soap-making equipment to manufacturers across the country — everything from a single cutter to a complete production line. We need a sharp communicator to take over sales for the equipment side and help manage our wholesale soap accounts.
You don't need to know anything about soap or machinery — nobody we hire does. We'll teach you the products, the industry, and the customers. What we can't teach is clear writing, a confident phone manner, and the ability to figure things out you've never done before. You'll report directly to the CEO.

Position: Sales & Account Manager
Location: La Porte, IN (in person)
Experience: 2+ years in a customer-facing role (B2B or technical sales a plus)

What You'll Do:
- Take over equipment sales: Learn our SoapEquipment product line and become the main point of contact — answering customer questions, writing quotes, and closing orders. You start with an established customer base, not a cold list. Almost all of our business comes to us.
- Grow into the big deals: Customers call us wanting to build or expand entire soap factories. You'll start by qualifying these prospects and sitting in while the CEO works the deal. Over time, you become the one who designs the solution — how many oil tanks, which cutters, how the whole line fits together.
- Manage wholesale soap accounts: Take new orders from our soap customers and keep their projects moving. When a customer wants a new product developed, our R&D team creates it — you make sure materials get ordered, pricing gets set, and nothing stalls.
- Follow up: Track open quotes, stalled projects, and standing customers so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Work trade shows and conferences: Represent both companies at industry events and handle the outreach before and after.
- Pitch in on projects: Basic website updates, writing product content, reviewing sales numbers, setting up inventory for new product lines — whatever a growing business needs.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong writer. You can turn a complicated situation into a short, clear email.
- Comfortable on the phone with business owners and senior buyers. You hold your own without being pushy or nervous.
- Fine doing things you've never done before — learning a CRM, setting up inventory, figuring out new software. You'd rather figure it out than wait to be shown.
- A fast learner with common sense who doesn't need every step spelled out.
- Organized enough to juggle dozens of accounts without dropping follow-ups.
- Sales experience with technical or business products is a plus, not a requirement.
Opportunity:
You'll report directly to the CEO and learn the business from him. The ceiling on this role is unusual: our biggest equipment customers are building entire factories, and the person who can walk them through that is the most valuable seat in the company. If you can learn it, the biggest deals are yours. The role includes travel to trade shows and occasional trips to our equipment operation in Hagerstown, IN.
