American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II trauma center in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and multiple certifications including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.

101-bed Emergency Department in a high-volume hospital setting serving a diverse, multicultural community
-
Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
-
Typical patient ratio of 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds

Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
-
Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet departmental needs, no block scheduling

Techs available and stationed in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage areas; unit clerks available on days and nights

Equipment includes Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors

Documentation via Cerner
-
No floating outside the ED; must be open to floating within all sections of the ED

Active NC or compact RN license required

Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (or equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and NIHSS

ENPC required within 90 days of hire

Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent ER experience

Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) strongly preferred

Previous HCA facility experience preferred

SSN and DOB required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include delivering patient-centered care aligned with AIDET principles, maintaining respectful communication, and keeping patient boards updated throughout each visit

Must demonstrate teamwork, the ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback, and flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Navy scrubs required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
