This position is designated as Support; Level 15 with a salary range starting at $70,801. Salary can increase based upon education and relevant work experience. It is primarily an in-person position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: Design, implement, support, and manage enterprise servers, systems, and managed services. Provide technical support, training and troubleshooting for IU staff; support computers, servers, systems, and managed services for Bucks IU and its constituent districts.

Design, implement, support, and manage enterprise servers, systems, and managed services.

Support computer hardware, devices, peripherals, equipment, and operating systems.

Serve as liaison with technical vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers.

Administer and maintain various mobile device and other systems management systems, including Microsoft System Center and Casper.

Support Apple based systems, including OS X and iOS devices.
-
Provide consultative support to districts and other contracted customers.

Administer and maintain various backup solutions used within the Bucks IU, including Crashplan and Microsoft DPM

Administer and maintain various server virtualization systems, including VMWare ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Assist with the support of the Regional Wide Area Network (RWAN) and associated systems.

Create and maintain excellent technical documentation.

Administer and maintain Active Directory infrastructure.

Assist with the creation and execution of technical bids and service contracts.

Provide on-site and remote technical support; provide emergency on-call support for on-site and remote technical issues 24/7/365, as needed.

Coordinate the team-effort to build and maintain program-specific software images for Windows based desktops and laptops.

Present at/represent Bucks IU at regional, statewide, and national events, conferences, and workshops.

Seek new and innovative ways to develop and deploy technical services for Bucks IU and countywide stakeholders.

Provide technical support contact for conference rooms, audio visual equipment, and video conferencing systems, as needed.

Provide timely recommendations to improve technical services.

Create and deliver technical training schedules, content, and programs.

Lead enterprise technical initiatives and projects according to specified budgets, timelines, and expectations.

Configure devices for connection to network(s).

Perform system and device installation within Bucks IU, its offsite locations, and school districts, as required.

Identify computer-related problems and provide solutions, via telephone, personal contact, or remote diagnosis, for all IU staff users (help desk, software and hardware questions).

Interpret, assimilate and utilize technical information relative to network hardware, software and peripheral equipment.

Configure, test and repair computer equipment peripherals (scanners, cameras, printers, etc.) as necessary; Provide technical assistance for users and devices.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 260-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours are dependent on the needs of the IU and districts. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Director of Operations will coordinate 24/7 coverage schedules, as required during times of emergency situations and/or severe weather.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Level of Degree:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and hardware.
-
In depth knowledge of network-based applications, remote management software, imaging solutions, and help desk systems.
-
Microsoft Certified Systems Expert certification or equivalent experience supporting Microsoft systems.
-
Excellent organizational, project planning, and interpersonal communication skills.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Technical aptitude for computer equipment, especially relating to networks, servers, user devices, personal computing devices, and Macintosh and Windows Operating Systems.

Ability to develop and present demonstration material to groups and individuals.

Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
