Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Farm Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair agricultural and ranch equipment critical to daily operations. This position requires flexibility during peak seasons, including extended hours and on-call availability to respond to equipment breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain farm equipment including tractors, loaders, skid steers, balers, trucks, trailers, and implements, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service
- Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Welding and fabrication as needed
- Maintain detailed service and repair records
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns during planting, harvest, and feeding seasons
- Communicate repair timelines and equipment needs with management
- Follow all safety procedures and operational standards
On-Call & Overtime Requirements:
- Peak season hours may include evenings, weekends, and extended shifts
- Overtime is expected during planting, harvest, and calving/feeding seasons
- Ability to respond to breakdowns outside normal business hours when operationally critical
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience as a farm, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic preferred
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor environments year-round
- Bilingual is a plus
