Duties:
1. Plans, develops, and implements production methods and cell set-up, including layout, routers and build books for all products including overhaul & repair.
2. Plans and coordinates efforts toward the acquisition of needed equipment and tooling.
3. Industrial Engineering experience related to layout and efficient process flow.
4. Develops and maintains production standards.
5. CNC programming of multi-axis machining centers (3-5 axis mills, CNC lathes, CNC Swiss machines, Gear Hobbers, etc.)
6. Assists in the troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical problems and test failures.
7. Reviews engineering drawings for manufacturability. Writes engineering change orders as required.
8. Witnesses and evaluates acceptance tests on units to verify both the performance of the product and the accuracy of the test procedure.
9. Reviews designs and processes for continuous improvement opportunities & manufacturability. 8. Builds manufacturing bills of material based on engineering bills of material.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience with 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role; applicants with 0 years may be considered if they have relevant internships/Co-ops and coursework in aerospace manufacturing (or equivalent industry).
Familiarity with CAD (Creo or equivalent) and GD&T drawing standards. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with hands-on requirements. Ability to interact with and instruct a broad spectrum of people, including technicians, machinists, suppliers and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of machining, material properties, CNC programming for multiple type CNC equipment using MasterCam and equivalent programming software, etc. as it relates to manufacture of component parts a very large plus. Gear Hobbing experience also preferred. Familiarity with electronics and electric circuits. Knowledge of electric motors and hydraulic motors, servo valves and hydraulic test equipment. Experience with aircraft and/or military equipment. Understanding of aerospace standards and requirements. Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems and auditing. Experience in FAA/EASA certifications a plus.
