About the Role
We are looking for an energetic, people-first Fitness Manager to lead our trainer team and help members thrive. This is a hands-on leadership role - you'll recruit and develop trainers, guide new members through onboarding, maintain a safe and welcoming facility, and still get time on the floor doing what you love. What You'll Do
Trainer Recruitment & Leadership
- Recruit, hire, and onboard personal trainers, maintaining strong coverage and managing staffing transitions
- Observe trainers within their first 30 days and at least quarterly thereafter, providing timely coaching and feedback.
- Complete performance reviews and lead monthly team meetings
- Ensure every class consistently meets SPIRIT Club standards and is welcoming to members of all abilities
Operations & Member Support
- Oversee training scheduling, trainer-member matching, and smooth member and trainer transitions
- Address concerns from members and trainers, escalating significant issues as appropriate
- Participate in internal growth and retention meetings
New Member Onboarding & Conversion
- Conduct SPIRIT Starts and member consultations, assessing goals and recommending appropriate services and trainers
- Support trial-to-member conversion and ensure a welcoming onboarding experience
Personal Training & Class Leadership
- Maintain a limited direct training and class-leading schedule, staying connected to members while keeping management as your top priority
Facility & Equipment Management
- Keep facilities safe, organized, and professionally maintained; purchase and manage equipment as needed
What Success Looks Like
- Trainers feel supported, developed, and held to high standards, with observations and reviews completed on time
- Strong trainer and member retention
- SPIRIT Starts (consultations) completed promptly with strong trial-to-member conversion
- Minimal schedule disruptions, smooth transitions, and consistently well-maintained facilities
What We're Looking For
- Experience in fitness management, team leadership, or a similar role
- Experience working with or providing support to people with disabilities
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop people
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a talent for balancing administrative work and floor time
- Current personal training certification preferred (NASM, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent)
- CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Commitment
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Some travel between locations expected.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
