Position Overview
As a Skyline K9 Trainer, you will be responsible for training dogs in our Board & Train programs, coaching owners during turnover lessons, documenting daily progress, and representing the Skyline K9 brand at the highest level.
You will work with a wide variety of dogs, including puppies, family pets, high-drive working breeds, reactive dogs, and behavior cases. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to develop your skills.

What You’ll Do
- Train dogs in obedience, off-leash reliability, behavior modification, confidence building, and socialization Conduct daily training sessions using Skyline K9 systems and methodologies Create professional daily report cards, photos, and videos for clients Educate owners on proper handling, accountability, and maintenance training Conduct turnover lessons and follow-up support with clients Safely handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, drives, and temperaments Maintain kennel cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation Perform daily health checks and monitor feeding, medication, and overall well-being Attend Skyline K9 events, pack walks, demonstrations, and community outreach opportunities Uphold the Skyline K9 standard in appearance, professionalism, and customer service

- Passion for dogs and dog training Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to take coaching and implement feedback Professional communication skills Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to confidently handle large and powerful breeds Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and remaining active throughout the day Reliable transportation and punctuality Clean and professional appearance Willingness to continue learning and developing as a trainer
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous dog training experience Experience with balanced training methods Experience handling working breeds, reactive dogs, or behavior cases Customer service, sales, or coaching experience Experience in kennels, boarding facilities, veterinary clinics, shelters, or animal care environments Experience with e-collar and prong collar training is a plus but not required
