Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Create a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain daily communication with families regarding children's progress and classroom activities.
- Observe, assess, and document children's development.
- Ensure compliance with all Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) regulations and center policies.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to provide high-quality early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Child Development Associate (CDA), Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC), Technical College Diploma (TCD), Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Georgia childcare programs often recognize CDA credentials and ECE-related degrees for lead teacher positions IS PREFERRED but not required.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
- Knowledge of Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) preferred.
- Must pass all required state background checks and meet Georgia childcare licensing requirements.
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
