Position Overview
We seek a creative and dynamic educator with solid experience in teaching Judaic Studies in an
engaging and comprehensive manner. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, depth of
knowledge, and a student-centered approach to the classroom, fostering a love for Jewish
learning, while building strong connections with students and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach Judaic Studies (Torah, Jewish holidays, Israel, values, and traditions) in an
engaging and meaningful way.
- Plan and teach a challenging and developmentally appropriate course of study, with an
emphasis on differentiating instruction and using assessments effectively.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment through regular class meetings, supportive
interactions with students, and clear expectations for community behavior.
- Engage students in experiential learning, encouraging deep investigation of topics as part
of an emergent curriculum.
- Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported,
challenged, and inspired to explore their Jewish identity.
- Guide students in tefillah (prayer) and holiday celebrations, helping them build a personal
connection to Jewish practice.
- Collaborate with other lower school teachers and educators to develop curriculum, and
implement special projects.
- Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences,
written reports, and newsletters.
- Support and follow the school policies and procedures.
- Be a positive and contributing member of the professional community.
