Job Summary:
The Kitchen Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that all orders are accurate, prioritized by time and location, include all specialty shopping items, include all items, accouterments – are free of allergens, are packaged, labeled and delivered on time and to the accurate location. We are seeking additional Expo team members to join our Lake Worth Beach InFlight Catering Operations team to help ensure that quality food leaves our kitchen on time, and that all relevant order notes are followed for our catering orders.
The Kitchen Expeditor coordinates the day to day prioritizing of orders, relaying feedback and suggestions to the Manager to maintain and improve quality. They will be the central kitchen captains of quality and accuracy – as well as the on-site problem solver in the event of situations arising that require immediate action.
THIS ROLE IS FOR OVERNIGHT SHIFT. Typical shift times are from 10pm-6/7am. Shift times fluctuate based on our order volume and demand, but generally last 7-9 hours. Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating food orders between the kitchen and delivery team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all catering orders. A detail oriented nature and an ability to read/write fluently in English is required for this position. Experience working in another inflight catering kitchen is a plus, but experience working as an expo or managing take out is required. Any experience in the inflight catering space is highly preferred and will be taken into consideration. Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. English required, spanish a plus.
Job Description:
- Ensure all dishes are prepared accurately, in a timely manner, and every order contains all necessary ingredients.
- Coordinate food orders between the kitchen and drivers.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, drivers and operations team to maintain smooth food service flow.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the food service area.
- Support overall customer satisfaction by expediting food orders promptly.
- Observe allergy notations and label food accordingly before bagging and boxing items.
- The Expeditor will resolve issues following IK InFlight procedures related to customer quality, satisfaction, safety, and cost.
- Additional responsibilities may include picking up supplies as needed in the course of business and routine area cleaning and maintenance.
- Understand and maintain quality control and food-safety procedures of customer orders.
- Assist with the assembly of silverware units and stocking of items, while maintaining the shopping lists as well as recurring item inventory.
- Cross-train to be able to prepare or produce food in the kitchen, or drive, as secondary duty.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in hospitality and/or being a kitchen expeditor/expo is preferred.
- Any familiarity with the inflight catering space or event catering is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with food preparation and handling techniques.
- Experience in bussing, banquet, or restaurant environments is a plus.
- Previous face-to-face customer service experience in the food services, or hospitality industry is essential.
- Must possess a sense of priority at all times and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to details.
