Overview:
Osage County Community Living, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Program team. Our program supports adults with developmental disabilities in achieving personal goals, building independence, developing life skills, and participating in meaningful community activities. Day habilitation programs are designed to promote skill development, community inclusion, and personal growth for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Position Summary:
Day time hours. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00am- 2:00pm. As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and encouragement to individuals served by The Ability Center both within our program and throughout the community. You will assist participants in working toward individualized goals while helping create a positive, engaging, and person-centered environment.
Essential Duties:
- Assist individuals with achieving personal goals and increasing independence
- Support participation in daily activities, recreational opportunities, and community outings
- Encourage social interaction, self-advocacy, and skill development
- Provide transportation
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Maintain the health, safety, and dignity of all individuals served
- Work as part of a team to provide high-quality services and supports
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Missouri driver’s license with acceptable driving record. A Class E license will need to be obtained to transport our individuals.
- Ability to pass background screening and other required checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required—we will train the right person
- Level 1 Med Aide required. Can be obtained on the job
